Due to a let's call it succession of circumstances I found myself riding to San Jose's DSW Shoe Warehouse, a large discount shoe store. What's remarkable is that I was in the company of three beautiful women, each looking for the perfect shoe. The store had a men's shoe section but this served largely an alibi function, because it was about 2% the size of the women's section. "Look," the wife presumably would say to her husband, "you can find yourself some good shoes too. So don't complain."

Having finished the men's section quickly, I went looking for my friends, who were still busy shopping. After a while, boredom was getting through to me. And then it struck me that this was the perfect photo opportunity. The diversity of women's shoes and their butt ugliness in most cases was just too amazing. So out came my cell phone and its camera kicked into action. This page showcases the most outrageous exemplars of women's shoes I could find.

Now, you'll notice that I'm biased. Basically, you'll find only gross violations of taste in this photo gallery. If you happen to own these shoes, or if you happen to be from a culture that considers these shoes beautiful, please don't complain. I'm making no generalizations beyond that I found these shoes hilariously ugly. Having said that, enjoy!
